Dr.Bob GilbertB.Sc., DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Gilbert was born and raised in Edmonton. He graduated with a degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta in 1971. He then went on to receive his DVM at the University of Saskatchewan in 1976. Soon after graduation Dr. Gilbert moved to Fort McMurray and founded the Fort McMurray Animal Hospital becoming the town’s first resident veterinarian. He has since worked on animals of all sizes and has even worked with the sled dogs of the Iditarod. He has a particular interest in orthopedic and laser surgeries.
Dr.Jennifer BennettB.Sc., DVMVeterinarian
After growing up in Cape Breton, N.S., Dr. Bennett went on to the Atlantic Veterinary College and graduated with her DVM in 2003. Soon after graduation she moved to Fort McMurray and has been here ever since.
Dr.Tara LandsbergenB. Sc, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Landsbergen was born in the Netherlands and spent four years growing up in Namibia before moving to Sundre, Alberta. She grew up training and riding warmblood horses before realizing she wanted to be a Vet. She has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health from the University of Alberta and obtained her DVM from the University of Calgary. Dr. Landsbergen is excited to be part of the Fort McMurray Animal Hospital Team. She would love to care for your feline, canine, and equine pets!
Barbara GilbertPractice Manager
Barb has been by Dr. Gilbert’s side ever since they were married. She plays an integral role in the day-to-day activities at the clinic by managing the staff and controlling the finances.
Chanelle PoirierRegistered Veterinary Technologist
Chanelle moved to Fort McMurray in 2011 and has been working at the Fort McMurray Animal Hospital since Febuary 2015. Chanelle loves being involved in surgeries and has a particular passion for emergencies. In her spare time, she likes to spend time watching Netflix with her 8-year-old tabby cat Mylo.
Laura BoerrichterRegistered Veterinary Technologist
Laura grew up in Ontario and has been living in Fort McMurray since 2011. She has two border collies, Molson and Teddy. Outside of the clinic, Laura enjoys horse riding and traveling the world.
Krista GilbertClinic Assistant
Krista grew up in Fort McMurray Alberta. After completing the EMT course she decided she missed working with animals. She then joined the Fort McMurray Animal Hospital team where she is currently working as a Veterinary Assistant. In September she is working on becoming a RAHT at the Grande Prairie regional collage. She has a long haired german shepherd named Laika who is currently 7 years old.
Erica was born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta. She has been with the Fort McMurray Animal Hospital since September 2012. She has a great love for animals, including her own - Lu the Chihuahua, and Gus and Zoe the cats. She enjoys spending her evening and weekends exploring with the adventurous Lu.
Katie grew up in rural N.S. and has always had a close connection with animals. She moved to Fort McMurray soon after graduating high school and has since called it home.
